History

Crevecoeur Chickens are an old French breed related to the Houdan with one less toe and slightly different comb. The comb is of the horn type with a solidly built body. Colour green / black only. Little is known of the origin of this breed. Darwin classifies Crevecoeurs Chicken with Houdans as sub-varieties of the Polish. They originated in Normandy and took their name from a village in that country.
